With the opening of Bass Season in our local area, baits for both largemouth and smallmouth are flying off the shelves.  As noted in the last Blog, Watson's stocks the best bass baits you can find.  Hardbaits from LiveTarget and StrikeKing, as well as an array of plastics from Gambler, WaveWorm and YUM.  Some of these products are hard to find anywhere in the province and you can pick them up at Watson's!

While checking out the latest in bass baits, make sure to look over the great selection of rods and reels from Abu, Fenwick, Shimano, and Quantum.  Watson's has the gear to make your bass season one to remember.

New guns have arrived that will have the local deer hunters ready for the upcoming fall season.  New to the shop is the Savage Axis combo.  This rifle package comes with a 3x9 mounted scope and detachable clip.  This hot item is the perfect match for performance and affordability at $399!
These units will not last long!

Local Hunting and Fishing News

You have 2 days left to secure your doe tag for this region!  Don't forget, act now!

Bass season opened in the area, and anglers were greeted with some poor weather.  Reports have been good however and the season has just started.  Big smallmouth have been spotted cruising the shorelines of Owen Sound Bay, a good indication the spawn is over and the fish are on the feed.

The Grey Bruce Bass Club held their opening event in the Muskoka region on Muldrew Lake.  The club reports excellent fishing and bad weather with the winning bag of fish totalling 18+lb (5bass).  The next club event is being held on Gould Lake, Wednesday July 6, and another on July 9th at Lake Eugenia.  For more info, stop into the store to view the schedule, or go online to http://www.gbbass.ca/

Some reports have trickled into the store about good catches of Lake Trout coming offshore of Meaford.  Chinook fishing is still good off of Port Elgin and Kincardine for anglers fishing offshore over 100+ feet of water.  Hot lures have been Hotfish spoons and Flashers/herring.

If your looking for more info, stop into Watson's for the latest news!
